A replicable and enhanced leadership, management and communication development programme for Eritrean and African leaders, with other opportunities for international academics. We share knowledge, research and skills with the African and Eritrean diaspora, and professionals of different fields.

the training centre

The Waniney Leadership and Management Training Centre in Asmara, Eritrea was founded in 2015, with our first courses successfully completed in 2018. We work in partnership and collaboration with a range of agencies, including: The Eritrean College of Business and Economic Development, the National Union of Eritrean Women, Eritrean Women in Agriculture, The Confederation of Eritrean Workers, the National Youth and Students Union and other public sector departments, small businesses, community organisations and educational institutions. By 2018 Waniney had completed two courses for practicing leaders and business managers, and new courses are underway in 2020.

The courses provide a basis for the transformation of organisational cultures, development of business strategy, theory of the infrastructure for new ideas and implementation of change. The ultimate aim is to support the growth of a new generation of business leaders and managers fit for the challenges of a complex and rapidly changing world

Our Courses

Waniney leadership & management education programmes are designed for practicing leaders and managers, who seek to apply their learning by identifying and addressing personal and organisational management and leadership gaps. Our work is culturally intelligent - we seek to place cultural and historical values at the centre of our courses by reinforcing national identity. Waniney aims to build capacities and act as a bridge between a distinctively Eritrean approach, and widely accepted international leadership & management standards. This cross-cultural fertilization results in the sharing and promotion of innovation and creativity globally. The purpose of the programmes is to support practicing managers and leaders to combine their practical experience with academic theories around international standards in leadership, management and communication techniques with the goal of:

For those who are practicing managers or leaders of small businesses, community or public sector organisations.

Project management (short course)

For those who lead projects, events, workshops, seminars, conferences, promotional activities  and training programs.

Time management (short course)

For anyone who seek to manage, measure, and evaluate the outcome of the use of their time.   

Event management (short course)

Successful events need meticulous planning. Those who are involved in event management will make good use of this short course by articulating the expected outcome of the event and the action required

Business start-up (short course)

This short course teaches all the basic needs for a new business start-up, e.g. business management, financial management and marketing and promotion. It is perfect for anyone looking to start their own business.

Financial management (short course)

This  five day program is for those who are already running a small business and wish to manage their cash flow better. This course help individuals to go further with bookkeeping and develop financial management skills  

Customer service (short course)

Customer service excellence is a must-have skill for those who are client/customer facing, dealing with outward communications through any medium with customers.

Work ethics (short course)

This course is for young job seekers looking for employment, new graduates and those out of employment for longer period of time. Time keeping, customer services and communication skills would be part of this course

English for business and diplomacy

For those who need to improve their communication skills in order to effectively communicate in English with a professional level of competency.
