Is it safe to travel to eritrea?

Do i need any vaccinations before travelling to eritrea?
Travellers should be up to date with all routine vaccination courses and boosters as instructed by their doctor. Travellers may wish to receive additional vaccinations before travelling to Eritrea and more information about the vaccinations that are recommended can be found here.
Do I need a VISA to travel to Eritrea?
Yes, all foreign nationals (except those from Sudan and Uganda) are required to obtain a visa from the Eritrean Embassy or Consulate in the respective country of residence. Where there is no embassy or consulate, visas can be granted on entry, however they will first need to be requested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Asmara.
How do I get to Eritrea?
Eritrea has one main airport - Asmara International Airport, which is a short drive away from the capital city. Airlines that travel to Eritrea include Eritrean Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Egyptian Airlines, Fly Dubai, Emirates and Turkish Airways, to name a few. If you are travelling from America, Europe or Asia, you may need to stop in another country. There are two smaller airports - Massawa Airport and Assab Airport, however flights to these are more limited and less frequent.
How do I get from the airport to my destination in Eritrea?
There are plenty of airport taxis that can take you to Asmara or surrounding areas. However, if you are travelling further away - for example Massawa - you may need to organise dedicated airport transfers.
What are the points of interest in Eritrea?
